Attracting new clients in this economy can be a challenge. You need to get creative and adapt the way you promote yourself.

Here are a few simple strategies that you can implement and integrate in your marketing plan today. There is a tool that lots of small business neglect. It is just right there on your desk, but you may not think about it or and you may even be afraid of it.

What is this tool, I am talking about? Your phone. Yes, your phone is a powerful tool that you could use effectively to attract new clients.

In 1998 I started a telemarketing company in France and I was spending 6 to 7 hours on the phone, selling my clients products or setting up appointments for them. I know that calling prospects is not very fun, but I am not speaking of cold calling here. I don’t want you to buy lists of potentials clients and speak to total strangers. I am talking of integrating your phone as part of your follow-up system. You will contact only people that you already met at networking events or online via social media.

Let’s say that you attend networking events on a regular basis, you probably have tons of business cards on your selves or on a shoes box, and are just not doing anything with them. Go back to this pile of business cards, send an email to reintroduce yourself. Use your normal introduction about your services and ask those people what you can do for them or how you can help them. If you get a response, instead of emailing the person back, pick up the phone and call them. You already spoke with the person or met them online. It impresses people that you take the time to actually connect one on one. Make sure you are not trying to sell them anything, that is the tricky part, give them free and valuable information that could help their business. Networking is not about you, it is about them. Networking is not about selling but building a relationship.

If people don’t reply to your first email, don’t be mad, it doesn’t means they are not interested right this minute or they haven’t read your email yet, or maybe it went to spam, or they maybe too busy at the moment. There is no reason to fret. There are a thousand reasons people don’t get back to you right away. Wait for few days or a couple of weeks and send another email or send them some information by mail. You remember the old way to do business – using the post office, well it still works, but only if you actually use it! Combining email and mail doubles your chance to reach people and double your rate of answers. When you pick up the phone after a couple of exchanges, you will see that you will get a lot more chance to attract clients.

After all this online and print information they have received from you they already know about you and your business. They know you care about their problems and can provide them valuable information, so they will either take the time to speak with you on a spot or if you call at a bad time you will get a chance to schedule a phone appointment to speak with them at a later date.

What about calling your previous clients, they already know and like working with you? Do you have a new product or service that you would like to tell them about? Always remember to list the benefits and describe how your new product will help them. Too many small business owners are too busy selling and marketing that they neglect their current clients. It is much easier to have a client become a repeat client than to get a new client. So check your database, who could you call right now?

I don’t have my telemarketing company anymore but on my French consulting business “My French Network” that I started in the US few years ago, I still use the same techniques. I contact each and every person who contacted me for a free consultation. Starting a business in the US for a foreigner can take months or years, time to find the funds or get all the immigration requirements. I give my clients a call within 3 months of the consultation to make sure they are getting somewhere in their process. Then I give them a call at least every 3 months to get updates on their project. If they are still not ready for my help I may call them every 6 months. In the meantime I keep sending my newsletter, stay on top of their mind and check up via email to keep them interested. When I call they are not surprised; they do not reject my call. They are actually glad to see that I still follow their cases and I am still there to help them; I am still building the relationship.

So pick up your phone NOW.

Call your previous clients; reconnect with the people you met since the beginning of the year. Find out how you can help them. Create a follow-up system to keep in touch with them on a regular basis. Don’t just call once and forget about it. Use software like Act or OutLook Express to set reminders of when to call. Schedule a few hours a week to call your contacts and clients. Try it for the next 30 days, track your results, and then check how many new clients come rolling in. You will be surprised by the results. Integrate the process into your daily marketing plan.

A target market is the market segment to which a particular product is marketed. Target market is a key concept for your business. The more you know about your target market and how to position your product to sell to that market, the more successful your business will be.

Target Segment Identification

Target segments or markets are often defined by their demographic attributes such as age, gender, geography or income. They are also often grouped by preferences such as trendy, organic, etc. In B2B marketing, target markets are typically defined by industry and business size.

Consumer Markets

Consumer markets can be specific to a part of the globe or can sometimes be global in nature such as Baby Boomers, those people born from about 1946 to about 1959 in World War II affected countries. The value of identifying target segments is that they are groups of people with similar points of view and/or similar needs or purchasing patterns. By understanding those segments, you can position your products in the optimal way.

Need

Once a target segment has been identified and described to the extent possible demographically, it is useful to understand that segment’s needs. Are they looking for value and efficiency? Do they need support because they have too much on their plates? Are they analytic and particular and have the finances to support that approach? Are they empty nesters looking for ways to enjoy their new lives? Are they people with a strong devotion to a holistic and spiritual approach to life and are willing to make life changes to operate that way?

Resources

What kind of resources does your target population have? Are they middle income people who want a bargain or want to buy products that look high end but are economically priced? Are they high income people who prefer to surround themselves with one-of-a-kind creations and seek out fine craftsmaship? Are they wholistic folks who prefer to buy natural and organic and will search the Net looking for goods that match their special needs?

Methods of Receiving Information

Where do you find your target segment and how do they receive information? Are they socialising in MySpace or searching eBay for bargains?

Purchasing Behavior

Does your target market purchase frequently? Do they follow sales and buy at a good price or read supporting materials and buy quality? Are they constantly seeking out new sources or do they show purchase loyalty?

The answers to these questions give you the information you need to optimise sales.

After General Administration of Press and Publication enacted a policy to encourage private capital entering the culture industry, Ministry of Culture also published similar policies.

However, State Administration of Radio Film and Television has not published similar policies. Reporters from China Securities Journal have learned from insiders that reform in the radio, film and television will be slower than that in press and state owned art groups. The private capital has to wait to enter the radio, film and television at least in this year.

GAPP policies primarily focused on supporting private capital apply for national culture industry special funds. It maintains that private capital receive the same treatment with state capital in press park establishment and industry park construction. Ministry of Culture stated that private capital firms will receive equal treatment with state capital firms in terms of projects establishment, tax benefits and regulatory approvals. It also encourage private capital firms including financial institutes, brokerages and culture funds to enter the culture industry.

Cheng Shaofeng, deputy director of culture industry research institute of Beijing University said that, press industry and entertainment industry reforms started relatively early and as a result private capital has high degree of involvements. At present, policies enacted by two main regulatory agencies actually officially acknowledged private capital’s status in the industry and further laid out regulations for participants to follow.

Currently among the public listed companies in the domestic market, press firms have the largest share while radio, film and television firms are next to none. -Press and media industry reform was the fastest therefore privately owned press firm and advertisement firms are abundant with high degrees of market competition. Throughout the year, carpets can take a toll. Everyday life can leave a mark on your carpets. Spilled food and drinks, art and craft projects, smudged makeup, spilled paint, muddy boots and pets can leave your carpet unsightly and embarrassing. In addition to the visible stains, there is also buildup in carpet. From dander to pollen, unseen particles can cause health related issues which aggravate allergies and skin conditions. Even further below the carpet, bacteria can promote mold growth which can cause respiratory issues and destroy your carpet.

Keeping carpet clean is an important task and should be done not just to keep your house looking presentable, but also to reduce factors that can contribute to poor health. Spring and Fall are the best times to give your carpet a thorough cleaning to remove any buildup which has settled into the carpet over the seasons. Another issue in dealing with pets is the odor below the carpet surface. When an animal urinates on carpet, the urine travels downward. It becomes infused in the padding and the fibers of the carpet. Surface cleaning a spot will not remove the odor underlying the carpet. While you might not be able to smell it, you pet can. As they sniff about the carpet, when they come across the section with an old stain in the padding, they are likely to go to the bathroom there again.

Another huge misconception is that baking soda or air fresheners will remove the odor. This is false. Baking soda is a neutralizer when introduced to an acidic component. Neutralizing and odor is not the same as deodorizing. To remove pet odors, the bacteria causing them needs to be destroyed. Air fresheners, in addition to releasing contaminants and asthma inducing chemicals, only mask odors. They do not neutralize or deodorize them. Genesis 950 kills the bacteria in the carpet and completely removes the odor . . . safely!

This carpet was full of pet stains. It was cleaned with traditional cleaners over the course of several years. The cleaners themselves created more staining and left discolored blotches throughout the carpet. Typically, these cleaners are soap based. As soap attracts dirt, the marks left behind by those cleaners only became more prominent as time went on.

Because the cleaners used did not deodorize the area, the pets repeatedly went to the bathroom throughout the carpet. This was not a housebreaking issue. It was an issue caused by the odor not being properly removed and the animals being drawn back to that spot as their bathroom.

Pet stains, as well as other stains, should be cleaned using a steam cleaning or carpet cleaning machine. There are a number of machines available for retail consumers. They are great investments, as they can restore carpet and keep your home clean. For those who prefer, these machines can be rented from local grocery and hardware stores. Genesis 950 is compatible with all types of cleaning machines.

To remove pet stains, and the associated odors, Genesis 950 should be used at a mixing ratio of 1/3 Genesis 950 to 2/3 water. Typical cleaning recommendations for general cleaning are 1 part Genesis 950 to 7 parts water, however pet stains can be more persistent and for this reason, the ration can be increased. In extreme cases, Genesis 950 can be mixed with water at a 50/50 ratio. There should not be more water than Genesis 950 though as it is the water which activates it and enables the stain to be broken down.

After being cleaned in a machine at a ratio of 1/3 Genesis 950 to 2/3 water, the pet stains and odor were completely removed, as were the marks left behind from other cleaners.

Genesis 950 can also tackle surface stains. Whether it’s food, make up or unknown stains, use Genesis 950 in a spray bottle with water at the general cleaning ratio of 1 part Genesis 950 to 7 parts water. Spray the area, then rinse clean with water and allow to dry.
